Ports of Call
Cruise from Southampton
- Gibraltar: A small slice of Britain with big views. Ride the cable car, meet the macaques, and walk the wartime tunnels. History and sea horizons in one stop.
- Palamós: Beachfront promenade and a working harbour. Visit the fishing museum or head to nearby coves for a swim. Relaxed Costa Brava flavour without fuss.
- Savona: Ligurian town with a fortress above the port. Stroll to the Priamar and explore local piazzas. Quiet streets, good coffee.
- Genoa: Port city of grand palazzi and tight medieval lanes. See the UNESCO-listed Rolli palaces or the old harbour. Characterful and full of corners to explore.
- Portofino: A neat crescent of pastel houses round the bay. Walk to Castello Brown or take the path to the lighthouse. Small, polished and very photogenic.
- Livorno: Tuscan port with canals in the Venezia Nuova district. Day trips to Pisa or Florence are straightforward, or stay local for a seafood experience. Practical and well placed.
- La Spezia: Gateway to Cinque Terre’s cliffside villages. Trains and boats hop between the five towns. Views, steps and sea air do the talking.
- Cartagena (Spain): Roman theatre, harbour promenade and modernist facades. The Civil War shelter tunnels add a different chapter. Walkable, with history at every turn.
