Itinerary: Cruise from Southampton – Hamburg – Rotterdam – Bruges (Zeebrugge) – Le Havre (Paris) – Return to Southampton.
Ports of Call
Cruise from Southampton
- Hamburg: Red-brick canals, lake paths and a vast river mouth. Speicherstadt and HafenCity show the past and the future within minutes of each other. The Elbphilharmonie’s public terrace is the free, big-view move. If showers arrive, Miniatur Wunderland keeps everyone happy.
- Rotterdam: Modern angles and maritime muscle. Pop to the Maritime Museum to keep it nautical, then cross to Kop van Zuid for skyline photos. Markthal’s food hall solves lunch neatly. A water taxi is both a ride and a mini-harbour tour.
- Bruges (Zeebrugge): Early lanes, quiet bridges and a boat loop for the gables at water level. The Begijnhof and St. John’s Hospital shift the mood from crowds to craft. Climb the Belfry if you fancy a view and a few steps. Chocolate is a given; pick a backstreet shop.
- Le Havre (Paris): Paris by train if that’s the aim, or stay with Perret’s UNESCO modernism. MuMa’s light-filled galleries and St. Joseph’s lantern-tower church link well on foot. The beach promenade gives a breezy finish. Signage and transport make choices clear.
