Cruise from Southampton
- La Rochelle: Arcaded streets and twin harbour towers guarding the old port. Climb Tour de la Lanterne, then wander to the market for oysters and local cheese. The Aquarium sits close to the quays. Everything is walkable from the marina.
- Bilbao (Getxo): River curves, steel bridges and confident food culture. See the Guggenheim, then try pintxos in the old quarter’s bars. The funicular reveals the city’s bowl of hills. Bilbao mixes art, appetite and easy transport.
- La Coruña: Atlantic outlook and an ancient lighthouse. The Tower of Hercules path gives sea air and space, while the town offers cafés around María Pita. Galerías glaze the seafront with light. It’s a compact stop with clear landmarks.
- Le Havre (Paris): Modernist blocks, beaches and a clear run inland to Paris. Visit MuMa or Saint-Joseph’s lantern-like church before deciding on the long transfer. Trains and tours make the capital feasible on a long call. Stay coastal if you prefer a slower day.
