Ports of Call
Cruise from Southampton
- Cartagena (Spain): Roman theatre, harbourside walks and naval history. Climb the castle for views, step into the theatre museum, or sit out along the paseo. It’s compact and characterful.
- Corfu: Green hills and pale stone lanes. Visit the Old Fortress, find a shaded café in the Liston, or drive to Paleokastritsa’s bays. The island does easy charm well.
- Dubrovnik: Walled city with Adriatic views. Walk the walls, ferry to Lokrum, or slip into side streets away from the Stradun. The setting is the headline.
- Zadar: Sea Organ notes and a Roman grid. Watch the sunset by the Greeting to the Sun, visit St. Donatus, or explore the local markets: a small city with an intense atmosphere.
- Cagliari (Sardinia): Citadel slopes and Mediterranean light. Ride up to Castello, see the Roman amphitheatre, or take a quick beach run to Poetto. History and the sea are close together.
- Málaga (tours to Granada): Port city with the Alcazaba and Picasso links. Stay for the cathedral and hilltop Gibralfaro, or head to Granada for the Alhambra. Both options are rich.
- Gibraltar: British outpost with a big rock. Take the cable car for views and macaques, tour the tunnels, or watch for ships in the strait. It’s compact and curious.
