Ports of Call
Cruise from Southampton
- La Coruna: Oceanfront promenades and a working Galician port. See the Roman-era Tower of Hercules, explore the old town, or try seafood by the marina. It’s a straightforward, likeable first call.
- Funchal (Madeira): Hilltop views and flower-filled gardens. Ride the cable car, visit the market, or sample Madeira wine in an adega. Easygoing and scenic.
- San Sebastián (La Gomera): Quiet harbour with steep green valleys beyond. Call at the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, then head into Garajonay National Park. Slower rhythms suit the island.
- Santa Cruz (Tenerife): A tidy city with beaches and culture close by. Tour La Laguna’s heritage streets, visit the auditorio, or head for Teide’s volcanic landscapes. Plenty to do in a day.
- Arrecife (Lanzarote): White villages and César Manrique’s art-in-the-landscape. See Jameos del Agua, wander Charco de San Ginés, or find a sheltered beach. The island’s geology steals the show.
- Leixões (Portugal): Gateway to Porto. Cross the Dom Luís I Bridge, explore the Ribeira, or taste port in the lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia. A handsome finale before sailing home.
