Cruise from Southampton
- Bilbao (Getxo): Basque culture with bright boulevards and a riverfront reborn. See the Guggenheim’s curves, then cross to the Casco Viejo for pintxos in snug bars. The Funicular de Artxanda offers a panoramic view of the city and hills. Bilbao strikes a balance between bold design and quaint old-town corners.
- La Coruña: A sea-facing city wrapped by promenades. Walk out to the Roman-era Tower of Hercules and the windswept headland paths. In town, find María Pita Square and glazed galerías along the waterfront. It’s a straightforward port with big views and good cafés.
- Vigo: Granite lanes and Atlantic air. Climb to Castro Park for a look over the Ría de Vigo, then browse seafood stalls and tapas bars near the old port. Ferries run to the Cíes Islands when schedules allow. Vigo makes a relaxed Galician stop.
- Cherbourg: Ferry port turned pleasant stop with strong maritime threads. Tour La Cité de la Mer or browse the town centre’s shops and markets. The harbour promenades are level and close by. It’s an easy-going final call.
