- Brest: Naval harbour with broad quays and ramparts at Recouvrance. The National Navy Museum and the rebuilt city centre chart a layered past. Sea views and bridges make the short walks worthwhile.
- Lisbon: Trams, hills and river light. Visit Belém’s monastery and tower, then climb to Castelo de São Jorge for a panorama over red roofs. Miradouros and neighbourhood cafés suit a measured day.
- Vigo: Granite lanes and a working bay. Castro fortress gives the lookout; the old port quarter supplies seafood and small bars—a straightforward stop with Galician flavour.
- Cherbourg: Maritime city with a strong museum in La Cité de la Mer. Town markets and quays sit close by for a leisurely wander. It’s a calm final visit before sailing home.
