Cruise from Southampton
- Bruges (Zeebrugge): A pocket-sized medieval maze of canals, gables and bells. Early morning light gives the best photos on the Rozenhoedkaai, and a canal ride adds a quiet perspective. The Church of Our Lady houses a Michelangelo worth seeking. End with frites and a Belgian beer off the main square.
- Amsterdam (Overnight onboard): Compact, cultured and endlessly walkable. Spend the first day among Rembrandt and Van Gogh, then glide along the canals at dusk for the reflections. Next morning, cycle into Vondelpark or browse De Pijp’s cafés before rejoining the ship. The overnight adds breathing space between art and ease.
- Cherbourg: A Norman port with a maritime streak. Cité de la Mer mixes aquariums and a submarine; the market keeps to local rhythms. Stroll to the Napoleon fort for harbour views if the skies are clear. Honest, walkable, and good for an unhurried café stop.
