Ports of Call
Cruise from Southampton
- Cherbourg: A Normandy port with maritime history and a practical town centre. Visit La Cité de la Mer, walk the harbour, or head out to nearby coastal villages. It is a useful French call with both naval heritage and easy local exploring.
- Vigo: Vigo is a working Galician port with old streets, seafood restaurants and open views across the water. Walk to Castro Fortress, visit the old town, or take an excursion to Santiago de Compostela. It gives the cruise a clear Spanish Atlantic flavour.
- La Coruna: La Coruna has a seafront promenade, glass-fronted galleries and the ancient Tower of Hercules. Explore Maria Pita Square, visit the aquarium, or walk beside the Atlantic. It is a strong stop for history, coast and city wandering.
- Getxo (for Bilbao): Getxo sits near Bilbao, with beaches, cliffs and access to the city’s art and architecture. Visit the Guggenheim Museum, explore Bilbao’s old quarter, or stay near the coast for harbour views. It adds a northern Spanish contrast to the route.
