Ports of Call
Cruise from Newcastle
- Honfleur: Half-timbered houses and a pretty old harbour set the scene. Visit Sainte-Catherine Church and the Vieux Bassin, or stop by the Eugène Boudin Museum. It’s an easy town to explore on foot with cafés around every corner.
- Lisbon: Hills, viewpoints and river light define Portugal’s capital. Ride Tram 28, linger in Belém for pasteis and the Jerónimos Monastery, or climb to São Jorge Castle. The waterfront makes a fine evening stroll.
- Leixoes (tours to Porto): Gateway for Porto’s tiled churches and riverside lanes. Cross the Dom Luís I Bridge, sample port in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, or wander the Ribeira. It’s compact, photogenic and full of character.
- Bordeaux (Overnight onboard): Sail right into the city for grand squares and riverfront promenades. See Place de la Bourse and the Miroir d’Eau, then try a canelé or browse the Cité du Vin. The overnight stay allows for a leisurely evening in the old town.
- Rouen (Overnight onboard): A Gothic skyline and a maze of medieval streets. Step inside Rouen Cathedral, find the Gros-Horloge, and follow the Joan of Arc trail. With the ship in overnight, dinner ashore is an easy choice.
